Certain banks might be allowed to fail, ECB's Liikanen says

European Central Bank Governing Council member Erkki Liikanen has warned that banks pursuing unstable policies must be allowed to fail to remove "perverse incentives". "It is essential that banks with unsustainable strategies are allowed to fail," said Liikanen, who also heads Finland's central bank.
