Rep. Mel Watt's bid to lead housing agency gets stuck in Senate

The nomination of Rep. Mel Watt, D-N.C., to lead the Federal Housing Finance Agency is stuck in limbo, after Senate Democrats failed to get the 60 votes needed to move his nomination forward. Watt is the sponsor of a bill that would impose royalty fees on broadcast radio stations, but his presence in the House isn't seen as much of a factor in the legislation's prospects, since it's highly unlikely to gain passage, Dave Seyler writes.
