Sales begin for iPad Air; retailers offer deals

Apple put its iPad Air on sale in 42 countries today to generally positive reviews as the company also prepares to introduce the latest iPad Mini later this month amid reports of potential shortages for the 7.9-inch tablet. Wal-Mart has priced the lighter and thinner Air at a $21 discount when compared to Apple pricing, selling the Wi-Fi-only model for $479. T-Mobile is selling the 4G version with 200 megabytes of free data and no contract, for $629. Also on the tablet front, AT&T will give away a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 to those who buy certain Samsung Electronics phones.
