Report: Brand-name drug prices rise at twice the rate of inflation

Wholesale prices for 200 of the most popular brand-name drugs used by Americans over age 50 increased at twice the rate of inflation last year, according to a new report from the AARP. Prices for the drugs increased an average of 6.1% in the 12 months ending in June, whereas prices for 75 generic drugs studied did not increase in the 12 months studied.
