A very low percentage of online shoppers plan to use social-networking Web sites for researching products and posting gift lists, according to a report by JupiterResearch. Despite the numbers, e-commerce blogger Evan Schuman wonders if "the eternal search for credibility" will eventually enable online communities to give honest and truthful advice about products.
