Report: Lack of research contributes to TB-HIV epidemic

Not enough is known about the interaction between HIV and tuberculosis for African health systems to diagnose, treat and contain the illnesses, and a report says the collision of the two is creating a co-epidemic that is spreading in sub-Saharan Africa. According to the report, diagnostic tests for HIV-TB and TB in children with HIV and infection control procedures are key research areas.
