HHS report criticizes CMS on lack of oversight

The HHS' Office of the Inspector General has issued a report that says the CMS needs to have more oversight and better enforcement of HIPAA standards. The report says that CMS needs to be more proactive in seeking reviews, taking issue with the agency's "complaint driven enforcement" process.
