Inspector General to audit HHS' IT projects over next 12 months

The HHS Office of Inspector General is expected to review the department's information technology programs, particularly those supported financially by the stimulus package for health IT adoption, over the coming year to check for financial oversight and data security. "If errors are identified, we will also assess CMS' actions to remedy incentive payments made in error and its plans for securing these payments for the duration of the incentive program," the IG plan stated.
