Newark adds security lanes to reduce backup

Officials say security lines that once snaked nearly to the sidewalk at Newark Liberty International will soon be a thing of the past as a major renovation of Terminal B security nears completion. Wider passageways between the concourse and the B gates will allow for reconfigured screening areas with more lanes than before. "This work is essential to improving customer service, updating security systems and meeting the growing needs of the international and domestic airlines that use this vital terminal," says Anthony Coscia, chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
