Poll: Most Americans support move to outlaw texting while driving

An overwhelming majority of Americans recently polled by The New York Times and CBS News said they support legislation that would prohibit drivers from texting while behind the wheel. Many of the respondents also wanted violators to receive the same punishments imposed on drunken-driving offenders, the poll found.
