Recession may make Ohio voters more favorable to gambling

Four ballot measures in the past 19 years to legalize casino gambling in Ohio have failed, but the economic climate in the state has changed with the recession. Supporters of Issue 3 are optimistic that the measure authorizing casinos in four Ohio cities will pass on Tuesday, as Ohio residents look for industries that bring jobs. "We saw voter attitudes becoming more and more pro gaming," said Tim Wilmott, the chief operating officer of Penn National Gaming.
