Don't turn off workers' ears with buzzwords

To motivate and connect with his 7,000 workers, Richard L. Killion, president and chief operating officer of Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group, says he avoids buzzwords and focuses on simple terms. "You look at some executives who are on their career path and they think that the way to impress people around them is to use longer words," he explained. "You'll find from most employees that's not something that's effective."
