Patent application for iPS cells in Canada raises concerns:

Ipierian has filed an application with the Canadian government seeking patent rights for induced pluripotent stem cells and a human stem cell that is pluripotent and can self-regenerate in the long term, among other characteristics. However, some experts say researchers could face restrictions in gaining access to stem cells if such a comprehensive claim gets patent approval.
