Small-business owners look for action from newly elected officials

Helping small businesses was a hot campaign topic, and small-business owners are looking for swift action from the wave of Republicans that swept into power. The top priority among voters Tuesday was cutting taxes, according to exit polls. "Voters have resoundingly rejected more government spending, higher taxes and more burdensome regulations that have caused crippling uncertainty for businesses," said Tom Donohue, U.S. Chamber of Commerce president.
