U.K. manufacturing industry expands more than expected

Output from Britain's factories soared to a seven-month high in October, fueled by a sharp increase in export orders. The Markit/CIPS Purchasing Managers' Index climbed from 53.5 in September to 54.9 last month. Most economists had expected the number to come in at 53.1. The manufacturing sector also created jobs at its fastest rate since June.
