Union chief wants pilots exempted from "demeaning" security

The president of the Allied Pilots Association is urging members to avoid the repeated radiation of frequent trips through airports' full-body scanners -- but he says public pat-downs are a "demeaning" option for men and women "wearing the uniform of a professional airline pilot." In a message to members, Dave Bates said it is time to come up with biometric IDs or other measures that would allow pilots to bypass normal procedures at TSA checkpoints.
