Bill would give Neb. governor authority over pipeline projects

Legislation unveiled by Nebraska state Sen. Chris Langemeier would give the governor authority to approve or reject any pipeline projects that cross the state. The bill is the most recent development in a debate concerning TransCanada's proposed Keystone XL pipeline. Opponents of the project want to change the pipeline's route because it would cross through the Ogallala aquifer and the Nebraska Sand Hills.
