Fed predicts many years of high unemployment and feeble growth

The Federal Reserve sharply cut its estimates for U.S. economic growth and said high unemployment will persist for years. By the end of 2012, unemployment will fall to 8.6%, compared with 9.1% now, the central bank said. In late 2014, the rate will be 6.8% to 7.7%, the Fed said.
