Scoot set to fly in 2012 as Singapore Airlines' budget carrier

Singapore Airlines plans to roll out a budget carrier called Scoot next year. SIA says Scoot's four Boeing 777-200s will at first offer travel to Australia and China and airfares will be as much as 40% cheaper than major carriers. "We are not a substitute to Singapore Airlines. The aim [for Scoot] is to bring incremental business to the SIA Group," said CEO Campbell Wilson.
