Study: AMD gained a sliver of processor market share in Q3

Mercury Research reports that Advanced Micro Devices increased its share of the worldwide processor market to 18.8% in the third quarter, up from 18.3% a year ago, despite manufacturing problems with some leading-edge processors during the period. Intel, in contrast, saw its share slip to 80.3%, compared with 80.6% in the third quarter of 2010, according to the market research firm.
