Big plans for small schools in Los Angeles

Los Angeles schools has forged partnerships with four national groups to break up seven large campuses into small learning communities beginning next fall. Subsidized primarily through $8.5 million from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the program will be expanded to more schools if it's successful.
