Minnesota finds thin overlay promising

A 5-inch unbonded concrete overlay on Minnesota's Highway 53 looks promising as a lower-cost solution for other highways, according to the state's department of transportation. The overlay, which can be poured in less time than a traditional surface, is designed to provide load transfer between segments and a smoother ride.
