Passenger trains become more popular in U.S.

For several decades, passenger trains have been more of a curiosity than a legitimate means of transportation. A variety of factors, including the high cost of gas, highway congestion and airline issues, are making train travel much more appealing in some parts of the U.S. Even lawmakers are beginning to tout the virtues of the industry.
