Progress CEO: More reactors needed to reach carbon-reduction goals

Progress Energy would have to construct about 12 nuclear plants by 2050 to meet the emissions caps required under climate-change measures pending in Congress. "If you just look at those carbon targets in Waxman-Markey or the Boxer bill, we would have to go a lot more than two nuclear plants in each system, maybe three times that," CEO Bill Johnson said.
