Sibling rivalry could nip at Symbian's heels

Symbian, the world's leading mobile-operating system, could face a competitive threat from an unlikely source -- Nokia's new Linux-based Maemo software developed by the same company responsible for most of the Symbian-powered phones in the market, according to industry analysts. They predict Symbian's growth will slow -- because of competition from Maemo and Android -- until its numbers start to shrink in 2014.
