Struggling schools undertake intervention strategies

Administrators from two West Virginia schools targeted for improvement because of low test scores say strategies are already under way to help meet their goals. Techniques include an alternative method of identifying students who may need special education and early-intervention techniques, based on the Response to Intervention model, that provide specialized support to students who are struggling with reading.
