Survey shows U.S. providers overuse Pap tests

A survey of 1,200 primary care providers in the U.S. found less than 25% made Pap test recommendations that were completely consistent with major guidelines. National Cancer Institute researchers said it wasn't that providers failed to recommend the test, but rather they used it too often in cases where testing wasn't needed.
