Blumenthal discusses challenges facing U.S. health IT system

National Coordinator for Health IT Dr. David Blumenthal said that in order to build a robust health IT system, the U.S. must overcome the following hurdles: inadequate funds, logistics regarding providers' selections, acquisition and implementation of health IT, insufficient health information exchange infrastructure, and privacy concerns. "American people need to be convinced that the information exchanged will be private," he said.
