Republican gains in Congress give many U.S. companies, lobbyists and lawmakers fresh hope that they will be able to weaken or block President Barack Obama's agenda on taxes, labor issues, financial reform and health care, among other issues. "Republicans have pretty much staked their claim that they're not going to raise taxes," said John Feehery, an adviser to former House Speaker Dennis Hastert.
