CMS final rule aims to broaden Medicare preventive services

The CMS has released a final rule that includes a 23% cut to Medicare physician fees on Dec. 1 followed by a 1.9% reduction in January. The provisions will improve payments for primary care services, pave the way for more access to rural health care and expand the quality measures required for outpatient hospital payments.
