Cuomo defeats Paladino in N.Y. race for governor

New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo defeated his Republican opponent, Carl Paladino, in the race for governor by more than 20 points, buoyed by strong support across the state and from African-American and female voters. Cuomo's election marks the first time that the son of a former governor of New York has won his father's seat.
