At Navy base, a LEED project goes Gold

Nearly a decade after the Naval Station Great Lakes in Illinois earned Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design LEED certification on its Bachelor Enlisted Quarters, it has received LEED Gold certification for its new 50,000-square-foot Atlantic Fleet Drill Hall. The facility features energy and water reduction measures, concrete and masonry units that contribute to a materials use of 30% recycled content and was sustainably designed with low-impact development for stormwater management.
