Florida senators move to repeal state RFS

Lawmakers on a Florida senate committee Wednesday voted 10-1 to approve a bill that would repeal the Florida Renewable Fuel Standard Act, which requires gasoline to contain ethanol. Some members of the Senate Communications, Energy and Public Utilities Committee expressed concerns that the biofuel can damage boats and older vehicles. State Rep. Michelle Rehwinkel Vasilinda defended the RFS, saying that the state needs a diverse energy mix.
