Crisis danger seen in debt load on South Korea's middle class, businesses

The mounting possibility of a collapse of South Korea's middle class and midsize businesses raises the chances of a broader crisis for the Korean economy, according to an assessment by the Bank of Korea. The report notes in particular the rising debt burden on families and businesses. Separately, Statistics Korea reported year-on-year consumer price inflation of 0.7% for October.
