EIA: U.S. ethanol output rose in July; consumption fell

U.S. ethanol output rose from 1.12 billion gallons in June to 1.13 billion gallons in July, according to the Energy Information Administration's latest monthly report. The U.S. produced 7.55 billion gallons between January and July, down from 7.94 billion gallons the same time in 2012 and 8.02 billion gallons in 2011. Net ethanol imports stood at 428,000 barrels in July, while domestic usage fell slightly to 1.12 billion gallons, the EIA said.
