Field trip to Maine cemetery turns into class project

Skeleton keys found at an 1896 headstone sparked the curiosity of students who recently visited a cemetery for a history lesson with their social studies teacher Jocelyn Gray. The Monmouth, Maine, students have been researching the man buried at the grave and have been inspired to raise money to repair three damaged headstones while volunteering to clean the historic landmark's grounds. Gray said she was happy to see her students get excited and care about local history.
