U.S. Fed member points to labor situation as taper determinant

Evidence of lasting improvement in the U.S. labor market is necessary before the Federal Reserve begins to reduce its bond-buying program, said St. Louis Federal Reserve President James Bullard. Bullard's latest statement is in line with economists' predictions that the Fed is unlikely to taper before next year.
