Merck seeks FDA approval of vaccine for four childhood diseases

Merck reported it is seeking FDA approval of a single vaccine designed to protect against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella in children. The company said Proquad combines two established Merck vaccines, M-M-R II and Varivax. Merck expects FDA to act on the application by next July.
