28-story retail, residential tower to rise in Boston

In a project estimated to cost $200 million, Midwood Management Corp. will raze four Boston buildings and erect a 407,000-square-foot tower on the site in the Downtown Crossing neighborhood. The 28-story structure, which will include 49,000 square feet of retail space, 276 residential units and nearly 200 parking spaces, is expected to take 30 months to complete. Demolition is scheduled for March 2010.
