CDC study shows HPV causes multiple cancers

The CDC reports human papillomavirus was responsible for 25,000 U.S. cancer cases each year from 1998 to 2003, including cervical, anal, mouth and throat cancers. Dr. Maura Gillison of Johns Hopkins says the data may justify wider use of the HPV vaccine to reduce the incidence of all HPV-associated cancers.
