Online records help students, parents track grades

Students and teachers in many Washington, D.C.-area schools can view their grades and homework assignments online, and even chat with their teachers via an Internet classroom "portal." Teachers can update the online grade books as they update their own records, and parents say having online access to their child's grades helps them stay connected and involved.
