Why you should absorb uncertainty

Take some of the pressure off, advises Columbia Business School professor Rita McGrath, by making key assumptions so they can move on. "What I see going on in many organizations today is that instead of absorbing uncertainty for their people, leaders are letting their own feelings of being out of control and not being able to predict the future dominate their communications," she says.
