Cincinnati debuts $23M security checkpoint facility

Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport opens its new, $23 million security checkpoint building today, a move intended to shorten lines by putting security on the same floor as ticketing. "It used to be that it would be hard to get people into the shortest lanes because you couldn't see what's going on downstairs," says Paul Wisniewski, CVG's federal security director. The improved security area will include 10 screening lines, up from the current nine, as well as new X-ray machines and surveillance cameras.
