Sinopec is near deal for LNG from Exxon Papua New Guinea project

ExxonMobil has a preliminary agreement to sell 2 million metric tons of liquefied natural gas a year from its venture in Papua New Guinea to China's Sinopec. Sinopec is the fourth major Asian LNG customer negotiating with the ExxonMobil-led venture for binding agreements that would support nearly all of the project's annual capacity of 6.6 million metric tons, ExxonMobil said.
