Indian sugar mills worry about reduced ethanol quotas

A recommendation by an expert panel for India to trim its ethanol-blending targets could be bad news for sugar mills that have signed agreements to supply about 158.5 million gallons of the biofuel. The panel had suggested the Indian government cut its 2010 blending quotas to a range of 105.7 million to 132 million gallons of ethanol.
