Google explores adding video to Kansas City fiber projects

Google may compete with multichannel-TV providers in adding video and voice service to its high-speed broadband pilot project in Kansas City, Mo., and Kansas City, Kan., according to a published report which described the company's talks as exploratory. Google has hired cable-TV veteran Jeremy Stern to lead the video project in which the company has held talks with major network owners such as Walt Disney, Time Warner and Discovery Communications.
