Providence Journal prepares to implement pay wall

The Providence Journal plans to put up a pay wall next year that is expected to be modeled on owner A.H. Belo's experience with The Dallas Morning News. Morning News subscribers get full access to the digital product at no extra charge, while readers wanting only digital pay $203 a year for access on all devices or $119 a year for one device. Although the Morning News has not disclosed the number of digital subscriptions, "we feel really good about where we are on our subscriber content initiative," Publisher Jim Moroney said.
