ABI: Apple to hold a greater share of in-vehicle infotainment

Apple's "iOS in the Car" user interface will be in nearly half of cars that use smartphone-integration for infotainment. A report by ABI Research shows connected in-vehicle infotainment systems will grow to 35.1 million units by 2018. Of those, 49.8% will be Apple's iOS, while 43.6% will use MirrorLink. "Apple seems to have a plan to roll out this pretty aggressively in 2014. So that's one of the main assumptions behind this," said ABI's Gareth Owen.
