Cameroon's cocoa bean grindings down

Sic Cacao, the Cameroon affiliate of Barry Callebaut, was the only buyer of cocoa for crushing in the first two months of this season, which runs from August through July, with a purchase of 6,309 metric tons, down from 11,526 metric tons last year. The low cocoa output is due to prolonged dry weather but it is also only the beginning of the main crop output, which generally runs from September to March, according to farmers and traders.
