EPA campaign on emissions rules draws scrutiny from some lawmakers

The 11-city "listening session" tour held by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for its proposed emissions rules on power plants has skipped coal-producing states whose economies would be harmed by the regulations, according to a letter written by 11 Republican senators. EPA is working with the coal, oil and natural gas industries and will draw more public feedback on its proposed regulations when they are formally released in June, according to a blog post from Janet McCabe, acting administrator for the Office of Air and Radiation.
